Free Minds Write Night gives volunteers the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of inmates, by reading their poetry and writing messages of encouragement and support. This feedback from caring strangers provides and invaluable connection to the outside world. It also encourages new writers to express themselves in positive ways.

In addition to critiquing poetry, Writing Night volunteers have the opportunity to hear powerful firsthand accounts of Poet Ambassadors, Free Minds Book Club members who are now sharing  their poetry and message of change with the wider community.
