Volunteers must be:
- SURE they can participate in event on April 12, 11:00-12:15
- Comfortable participating in role-play performed in front of a group of up to 40 people
Role plays will include, for example: street harassment; focusing on the phone on the subway or bus when harassment takes place; responding to a person in distress in public space; diffusing a hateful joke.
Students will have an opportunity to talk about how being in the role play felt, what they'd rather have done, etc.
The objective is to get the audience thinking about:
• what motivates different kinds of bystander behavior
• what safe and reasonable options are to intervene, including specific strategies
This activity is a great way to earn SL hours and will look great on a resume. Interested students should email:
